We must draw up boundaries, demarcate our space !!!

We have the choice to act, ignore or avoid while dealing with people. In our anxiety to be correct in our behaviour towards all, we bend backwards giving up our space to people who don’t deserve it. These include friends, relatives or even our own family. There may be an overbearing friend or a difficult child or even an uncompromising spouse who gives us stress by entering our space and attacking us relentlessly. The fault lies fairly and squarely on our shoulders for having allowed them to come this far. We must draw up boundaries, demarcate our space and tell them that they can come this far and no more. We must stop putting up with nonsense that stresses us out. We must be firm, stop putting up with behaviour that doesn’t suit us and before long we’ll find that such persons will change their behaviour patterns. ~Latika Teotia

Appreciate small blessings !!!

So caught up are we in our daily chores, our worries, anxieties,  tensions and problems that we hardly notice the magnificence and splendor around us. Make a very conscious effort to see something beautiful around you; just gazing at small beauties fills us with peace. Unless we do that we’ll continue to be caught in this web of anxiety. There is so much joy to be seen in the antics of children as they go about playing unmindful of the people around them. An excited dog on a leash dragging its owner, the crazy jump of a monkey from one tree to another, squirrels playing hooky pokey trying to dodge the prying eyes of human beings are all out there for you to enjoy. Just put the pause button on your routine, take time off to stand and notice; you’ll be filled with so much joy and peace. So start taking delight in little things and appreciate small blessings. ~Latika Teotia
