If you are feeling demotivated ,down and depressed about all the things you want but haven’t got, start thinking about all the things you don’t want and haven’t got. You see there is a positive sight to everything in life.
Just compare your circumstances against what they might have been and you will become aware that no matter how bad things are they could have been worse,and then you will be grateful they aren’t.
Be thankful for what you have; don’t brood over your misfortunes. Perhaps some calamity has befallen you or perhaps you have lost a near and dear one. Maybe you have recently had some serious health issues or perhaps you are having financial problems. Yes, such circumstances are very difficult to bear and you feel that your world has crashed. But even then there is so much to be thankful for.
A man lost his shop and his entire life’s savings in a fire. When someone asked him what he had lost, he replied, “The fire burnt my shop and life’s savings but my confidence is intact.”
Rise from your gloom, shed the negativity that invariably accompanies a tragedy and count your blessings; you’ll realize that you have much to be grateful for. Thank the Lord for what you have. ~Latika Teotia
You must know that you cannot control your fate and your destiny completely. But there are a lot of things that you can. You can choose your friends and the persons you interact with. You can decide what you want to do with your life, time and money. You can choose to see the glass half empty or half full; see threat in every opportunity or an opportunity in every threat. Remain in a state of self denial or remain composed in the face of adversity. You can select negativity or embrace positivity. And above all you can select your own beliefs, convictions, thoughts and opinions. Therefore, be judicious in what you choose.~Latika Teotia
Anything held for a long time becomes heavy. Try holding a glass of water for a minute, ten minutes, half an hour and an hour. Though no water has been added or taken out, the weight increases progressively. Same goes with our negative thoughts. The longer you hold on to them, the heavier they’ll become till you reach a stage when negativity takes over your complete self and drives out even a small speck of positivity.
I’m reminded of the story of a small boy who always used to fight with his classmates. One day the teacher called him aside and asked why he was getting into fights with everyone. The boy told her that they started the fight not he. She asked him why he had kicked John for no apparent reason. He replied that John had kicked him before lunch time and run away; since he could get hold of him (John) in the class he took revenge. And the boy narrated several other instances of his class mates who initiated the quarrel and he had only retaliated. The wise teacher told the boy to hence forth carry a bag with a dozen potatoes in it. He was not supposed to take it off even after reaching home and could take it off only when he went off to sleep. The boy did as was asked. He didn’t find any difficulty the first day. The next day he was slightly uncomfortable but could manage it through the day. And so his discomfort increased with each passing day, later even the potatoes started rotting and left a stench. Finally when the boy couldn’t take it anymore he approached the teacher and requested her to allow him to take the bag off. When the teacher asked him the reason he told her that the bag had become very heavy and letting out a rotten smell. The teacher then drew a comparison between the bag of potatoes and his desire to take revenge. She told him that when he carried such negativity it made him turn negative and he wasn’t able to enjoy the good things because his mind, like the rotten potatoes, was always cluttered with negativity and rotten thoughts.
So, learn to let go and move on. Don’t imprison your mind with negativity. Life is meant to be lived positively full of love and cheer ~Latika Teotia
Our inner strength and self belief comes into play when we face rough weather. By nature we are reluctant to move out of our comfort zones but when pushed into a corner we jump up to face what life throws at us.
We realise subsequently in hindsight that whatever happened was good and we feel glad that it happened the way it did as well as at the time it did. It could be the breakup of a rotten and difficult relationship which we had been unsuccessfully trying to maintain or it could be a job that was giving us endless nightmares and such like situations or circumstances.
When we pass through such transitional period it is HOPE that keeps us going. Hope, that things can’t remain as bad forever. Hope, that we’ll see light at the end of the long tunnel of dark despair. Hope, that a bright sunshine awaits us the end of the seemingly endless gloomy night. Nurture that hope, never let it die. Keep a positive attitude. ~Latika Teotia
Don’t let the virus of negative thoughts come into your world and wipe out the hard disc of your life; stay positive. Make a promise to yourself that you will steer clear of anything that brings a frown on the countenance- yours or someone else’s.
There are millions of ways in which you can spread joy as well as cheer. Follow that path. Start by putting a smile on your face first- that small curve can make a big difference in your life and in the lives of others. Think of good things only and banish the ones that pull you or the others down. Talk of good things, not bad; always talk of health, happiness, cheerfulness and prosperity. Look at the glass half full, not half empty; see the good side of everything.
Vow to stay optimistic, and make every effort to live it as well as make it come true. Make optimism your way of life. Make your friends as well as family feel special, show them their strengths, wipe out their negative thoughts. Be thrilled, excited and enthusiastic about their achievements as well as successes. Be good, do good and you’ll find that this world is a good place to live in.
Remove all your nagging self doubts and let your spirit soar. Focusing only on the positive and feeling grateful for what’s going well in your life is a way to live a life of abundance as well as bliss. Repeat to yourself over and over again that you are going to lead a wonderful life. Open yourself and fill your spirit with love, positivity and light. ~Latika Teotia
